The Arizona Connection

Today i got in touch with an old friend from Arizona, and she offered this.

To have a Six-K Chapter in Arizona, where people can get together and walk and offcours wear our t-shirts and spread the word around. I have had offers to do something similiar in different places before but never took it seriously but becky was a different case. She has been reading the site and really has been very much excited about trying to help people in Arizona like we have and continue to in Kuwait.

Becky, this is my message to you:

I hold you directly responsible for this club that i love. You have my and everyone here in Kuwait’s support and love to all of you in Arizona and hopefully abroad. Let us know what you guys need and it will be there asap. Please do update us on everything you guys do, share photos and news and maybe we can one day all meet half way and have a huge Six-K gathering. I am VERY excited.

My Six-K members, your dedication and spirit goes far beyond borders and i hope that this and what might come next will prove to you that you are not only hero’s in my eyes but truly a breed from a different kind. I love you all, becky thanks a million !

After years, around 3 or 4, of not having a McDonalds meal and practically thinking and toying with the idea fo such a long time, today was the day. Neil, Calvin and I all went to the McDonalds on the gulf coast and i had my first meal in such a long time. I did however run today, alot, Calvin & I went for a nice long before our McD’s escapade.

Here is the verdict: I did not enjoy the meal honestly, the burger was blah. I’d rather have a good burger at Johnny Rockets or maybe the Burger Hub or the like. The fries are good as always but not worth the many calories that came with it.

Would i go back there again? Probably not. I didn’t enjoy it, honestly.

I did however prove to myself this, that really i can do anything i want if i put my head to it. McDonalds didnt prove that to me, i just made a promise to myself i wouldn’t go there, and i didn’t for a long time. I’m happy this chapter is behind me, now i can look forward to: Original Cheesecake from The Cheese Cake Factory.

Salute to all my sisters

I never took a look back on how important just the fact that in our club many of our fellows sisters join us on our weekly walks.

A days ago i recieved an email from someone who was very much so interested in the group and couldn’t come because she thought the club did not include many girls and thought that it was predominantley guys that walked, which is not true.

In the six-k club over the time i have gotten to meet many girls and woman of older age who enjoyed the atmosphere who actually were more comftorable walking with us than if they were walking alone or with one of their friends.

This is my quick thank you to all of you who have walked with us and wish to in the near future:

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart first of all for supporting the group and it’s cause and i thank you secondly and forever for putting your footprint in showing all of the world that here in Kuwait we can have a loving, supporting, respectable, caring group that does not have to be segregated.

Your courage and leadership, trust me, have been the number one factor in bringing many girls out of their homes to come walk with us and change their lifestyles to a happier and healthier one.

I know you all are out of town on holidays’ and the like, but i plea with you, please let’s get back to the days where there were 30 of us or 40 of us walking in a group, bring your friends, your pets, your neighbours anyone you want and let’s all loose the weight 1 foot step at a time.

Pecks !

Ever since my weight loss i have hated the sight of my pecks (chest if you will). if you see me at the gym i always have to incorporate a chest workout. Today after not having been to the gym in quiet a while i felt really good. The minute things got kicking into gear i felt like my chest was tight again, my posture was perfect and my confidence, well as always :)

 I encourage you all to incorporate a little bit of weight lifting into your daily routine or weekly routine. It just makes things much better.

Oh by the way that in the picture is not me, i sometimes wish it was :P





The Grill is Back !

After my week long sickness and my travelling i have been told that i have shed a few kilos, and i have. My confidence level is up again, i feel good in my cloths and in my skin and the only thing that i have to watch out for is over - confidence.

Over confidence in the state where you loose some weight you feel good and you think your invincible before you know it your visiting D*lush everyday (hint hint you know who you are) and your craving McDonalds like myself here and you blow up again.

I have always loved cooking! i’m always down at the kitchen in the house coming up with new dishes, i’ve always loved food, ask anyone that knows me, i’m in love with cooking. Two days ago i went and bought some meat, i went with dad who’s in town, and we grilled ! I loved it, it felt like the old days like i was in my little apartment wanting to loose weight and i used to grill that chicken with some veggies on the side, it was clean, lean, healthy, organic food.

I have decided that i’m going to get back into action again, going shopping for great meat, visiting the local fish market to pick up the catch of the day, i’m getting back into it because i have too quiet frankly. Tommorow i’m starting a new program 1 day of weights and 1 cardio with 1 day off at the end.

The idea really is isn’t griling or food or a work out schedule it’s being able to re-invent yourself to find new ways to better your lifestyle. What is mine might not be yours or work for you, that’s why i always say that knowledge is the greatest tool.

McDonalds

I’ve been toying with the idea of eating at McDonalds for a while now. I haven’t had a proper McDonalds meal in years, maybe 3 or more even. In proper i mean a full meal, i’ve had some fries here and there a bite from someones sandwich, but to sit and open a bag and throw those crisp fries on the side and ketchup all over them and eat! that did not happen for a long time

I really would love too.

Why? Well it’s always been mental for me, when i lost weight McDonalds was my weakness so i decided to never go back there again and have succeeded.

My Question is: if i eat now, just that 1 perfect meal, would it mean that i have surrendered to my weakness?

Should i go ahead and do it! what do you guys think?





August 19 2007 - Message from a plane.

I am sitting in the plane back from Dubai as I write this. My eyes are shutting slowly, I’m travel sick, I feel nauseated and I guess my fear of flying is getting the best of me. As I sit here thinking about every  little reason on why this plane ride is getting bumpier by the minute I wanted to share with you all some thoughts I had in my head. Right now I feel bloated and what seems to be my weight gain while I travel is really annoying me. Here are some tips on what to do while your away from your gym or your favorite street that you run/walk on. I suggest the following. Always bring along your work out cloths, almost every hotel in the world offers a gym, yes it might not be what your used too but you can make the best of it and put in an hour of your day towards your well being. If you don’t like to travel heavy, like myself, make plans to go to the nearest sports wear store and purchase a pair of shorts and some shoes, which I did on this trip. During our travels we tend to let go, stay up all night and usually munch when the munchies come calling, and that’s how traveling should be, fun and easy going. BUT You can also curb your extremism with an hour or even half an hour a day towards your well being, remember always if there is a will there is  a way there should be no excuses, put on those pair of running shoes before you go out burning your credit cards shopping or before you head out on your next adventure and put in 30 minutes or an hour of working out, trust me you’ll thank me for it when you get back to the Kuwait.  Okay it’s getting real bumpy now I have to put everything away and sit tight before I pop a nerve, ciao.

I want to thank all the people that wished me well when i was sick for the past few days, your warm wishes and calls really helped alot. I miss you all so much and i hope to see you all next Sunday.

 There is a walk today, like iv’e said before it’s set for the summer
